Day 2: LOCAL CULTURE
Sunday, February 3rd
You will be picked up from Lava Lounge with a short 10 min drive to the beautiful Costa Rica Cooking farm Finca Pata Palo.
After being greeted by the friendly team and maybe a sloth or two, you'll explore the farm, picking your own crops to wash, prepare and learn how to cook traditional delicious Costa Rican dishes before sitting back to relax and enjoy the taste of Costa Rica with gorgeous views of Arenal Volcano.
Day 3: ADVENTURE
Monday, February 4th
Your trip beings with a 30 minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rainforest outside of the town of La Fortuna in the shadow of Volcano Arenal. We trek through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience.
Along the way we will have the chance to discover the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon. From the first waterfall we will rappel down from the top into the beautiful and pristine canyon below. We have 5 rappels, 4 of which are along side or right in waterfalls and one dry rock face.
The NEW attraction is called Monkey Drop, you will zip line across the canyon and rappel down from the cable 25 m(82 ft) to the canyon floor again. Then a short trek out of the canyon on a beautifully maintained tropical trail, jump back in the 4x4 vehicles and head back to the base camp.
Day 4: KARMA
Tuesday, February 5th
Dog Rescue: We have many street dogs that all require lots of love and of course lots of work to care for them every day. Currently we have approximately 40 dogs that all need to be walked and played with daily. Our volunteer program consists of 2 to 3 hour schedule that include dog walking, dog brushing and dog playing.
El Hogarcito: This orphanage is the only one of its kind in the La Fortuna area and is a pioneer of this type of transitional home. This orphanage is where children are taken directly from bad home situations and given a safe place.
The loving employees, director, psychologist and volunteers help fill this home with love and a feeling of well-being. The orphanage is a sustainable home and the children learn how to grow food, care for and gather eggs from chickens, how to recycle and much more. The orphanage was started in 1999 and is overseen by a Board of Directors.
Day 5: LOOK WITHIN TO EXPRESS OUT

Day 6: CONNECTION
Thursday, February 7th
Set deep in the Costa Rican rain forests and fed by waters of the Poas volcano, this amazing tropical river winds 13Km (about 9 miles) through the canyon filled with dramatic scenery and heart pumping excitement.
This river offers some of Costa Rica’s best white water with big waves, technical rapids and continuous whitewater. River time varies between 2.5 and 3 hours depending on changing daily water flow.
At the end of our journey, a cold drink and dry towel await you before a short ride where you can change into dry clothes followed by a delicious typical Costa Rican lunch.
