During the Program

Where does the training take place?

The majority of the training takes place in Studio B at Yoga One Central. There will be some events held in Studio A, you’ll visit other studios, and you’ll attend digital sessions from a quiet place that works for you.

What style of yoga will we be learning?

At Yoga One we teach and practice Baptiste Yoga (Asana, Meditation, and Inquiry). We are a Baptiste Affiliate Studio. We have used the Baptiste Methodology as well as several other leadership paradigms to structure the curriculum.

What is the attendance policy?

This is an ALL-IN training. You are expected to attend 100% of the program. Each module of the training builds on the next. Your fellow trainees need you and all the other trainees to be present and on time for each session. Your 100% participation is integral to maintaining the program curriculum.

To receive your 200 hour certificate, you will need to complete the training in its entirety.

In case of an emergency, contact the leadership team ASAP to be considered for make-up hours. Make-up hours will incur a fee and are not guaranteed.

What do I need to bring to each session?

We will let you know exactly what you need to bring before each weekend. Typically, you’ll need your yoga mat, several changes of yoga clothes, mat towels, hand towels, water, electrolytes, comfortable clothes for discussion, your journal and pen, your required reading, snacks, and lunch (we recommend bringing a small cooler).

What are the breaks like - will I be able to go home for lunch?

We will give you advance notice when possible about the duration of your breaks. Typically, you’ll have one 1-1.5 hour meal break and a 30-45 minute light meal break. You’ll have a few bio-breaks for changing clothes and snacks.

What type of technology do I need?

You will need a decent internet connection for digital sessions, a Facebook account, an email account, and access to a word processing software for your reports.

What are some of the frustrations students have with Teacher Training?

Typically trainees show up expecting certain things to happen in the training (think learning each pose à la Light on Yoga) and assuming that you need to learn certain things to be a good/real yoga teacher (think memorize the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali). Yoga One’s training is steeped in yoga tradition and you’ll gain access to it through hands-on experience. You may feel frustrated that you are not experiencing the training in the way you expected or assumed you would.

Some trainees feel frustration during our challenging physical practices. The practice may highlight your “I can’t do this” darkside.

We will ask you to try on new things and look at things differently. All that you’ve learned before may be challenged, and it will be necessary to try on a new relationship with risk, fear, and failure.

What is the usual class size?

We have 36 spots available for this training. We will do work as an entire group, in small groups, and individually throughout the training.
