When I'm not at the studio, you can find me: Running around midtown Charlotte in the early hours in summer time and at noon in the winter (probably training for the next race on my calendar), Flywheel Sport or sitting on my balcony getting some natural vitamin D.

My Journey with Yoga One and Baptiste Yoga

My Yoga practice started in 2002 as a way of stretching and releasing my body from kick boxing practice. However, my journey with Yoga One and Baptiste Yoga didn’t start until 2008 after visiting as many studios available in Charlotte I was able to find and practice different yoga styles.

The physicality of Baptiste Yoga, the self-inquiry and urgency to be real, vulnerable and honest kept me coming back to my mat. This didn’t happen overnight and it didn’t happen all at once. I sincerely don’t have a memory of the moment my life was transformed. What I know is that the more I practiced, the more I was clear about what I wanted.

I took Teacher Assisting Training at Yoga One in 2012. This was my first official training in the Baptiste methodology. I wanted to get dipper in my practice and give back to the yoga community what my personal yoga practice had given me. From this training, I got hooked. I left that training wanting to know more and do more, for me and for others.

In 2013, I took Teacher Training and I felt that I woke up and got present in my body and my life that year. At this point I was completely captured by the new way of being this practice provides. I started teaching the same year and the cravings to get more were unstoppable. In 2014 I completed Level One Journey into Power and the Art of Assisting, in 2015 Level Two the Sannyasin’s Journey and became a Certified Baptiste Yoga teacher in 2016.

My most recent training with the Baptiste Institute, Level Three Beyond Borders radically shifted my life, my teaching and my leadership; allowing me to discover what my life is for. Being a contribution and make a difference in every life I touch by empowering others to live from their fullest expression of creativity and vitality is the biggest achievement anyone could ask for. The possibility and opportunity to give that to others is what keeps me coming back to my mat.

I am fearless, powerful, strong.

Personal motto/ words I live by: I am enough, I have a home, I have a family, I have a community

Favorite treat: I have two actually: Tres Leches cake and Quesillo (aka Flan)

Favorite destination: Los Roques Island (Venezuela) or any beach in the Caribbean
